# What is build\_republic?

Over the last two decades, we have been increasingly burdened by more screen time, infinite scrolls, and disconnection from our surroundings and neighbors.

The build\_republic is designed to empower the work you care about with the people around you that are aligned on values and purpose. &#x20;

Together this makes up the *Civic Operating System* (CivicOS) that converts human potential into civic progress by coordinating individual competencies and pursuits into flourishing communities and economies around the world.
